Dealing with feelings of existential anxiety and helplessness against universal forces, this comic attempts to marry these themes with the strange qualities inherent to the medium. The titular character’s struggle with finding individual purpose as just one part in a long lineage of generational trauma and societal battles gets made visible in the repeating images of the panels and pages. The linear flow of time seems to become a suggestion as memories from her past haunt her during shockingly real nightmares, while her sense of self becomes harder to grasp within the abstract pencil lines. How can one not lose hope under such absurd conditions?
