Ambivalence

The resin sculpture Ambivalence is an attempt to visually express the psychological state of „the coexistence of opposing emotions toward a single matter.“ Emotions such as love and hate, anticipation and anxiety, hope and resignation – while seemingly contradictory – often exist simultaneously. Reinterpreting the motif of an hourglass, the work adopts a paradoxical structure: absence of sand, and time that is neither flowing nor measured; emotions that are not fixed to one side but oscillate between two extremes. Through this sculptural expression, the work gently invites the viewer to notice the layered and often contradictory aspects of their own emotional experiences.
