The project „Strength of Characters“ explores the visual and symbolic power of language through a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional East Asian talismans. Commonly desired words – such as strength, cherishment, health, hope, and luck – are redesigned into forms resembling Hangul or Chinese characters, combined with symbolic motifs and patterns. Each piece is constructed as a multi-layered acrylic installation: From the front, it forms a complete talisman; from the side, its individual layers become visible. By blending digital and lino print techniques, the work reflects on how the words we believe in shape our sense of hope, protection, and meaning.
