There are more than 20.000 comments under this video with people sharing their
struggles. The song is called Invincible, but actually it deals with the opposite, the
realization that life is slipping through ones fingers.
Since I can remember back music was a central part of my life, I connect deeply
to it. Music not only touches me, it inspires me, sometimes it creates visual images
in my head. For the last 2 years I had a handful of songs circling in my head with the
wish to create paintings based on the images these songs create inside of me. I chose
Invincible because of its raw, authentic power. And being in my 50s, and having lost
my mother, I can very much relate to what this song is about.
The idea of painting directly on the wall came to me when I was looking at the
huge painting of Daria Grechaninova at the last diploma exhibition in June 2025. For
practical reasons (moving around huge paintings is a major pain) and because I like
the relation of this mural to the philosophy of mandalas the idea stuck with me.
