Die Arbeit zeigt, ausgedrückt durch zwei Selbstpotraits, die Beziehung der Künstler:in zu ihrem körperlichen Befinden, welches seit jeher von einer chronischen Krankheit geprägt ist, und ihrem Umgang damit. Das Gefühl des Schwach-Seins, das Gefühl des Nicht-geglaubt-Werdens, das Gefühl des Leben-verpassens, sowie die nicht sichtabren Symptome finden hier figurativen Ausdruck auf der naheliegensten Bildfläche die ihr zu Verfügung steht, ihrem eigenen Körper.
The work, expressed through two self-portraits, depicts the artist’s relationship to her physical condition, which has always been marked by a chronic syndome and how she copes with it. The feeling of weakness, the feeling of not being believed, the feeling of missing out on life, as well as the non visable physical symptoms find figurative expression on the most obtainable canvas available to her, her own body.
